Our mission is to foster and encourage positive and measurable economic development through entrepreneurial thinking, collaboration and innovation.

North Port EDC is a private non-profit corporation.

Letter from the Chairman

Less than 24 months ago, in an effort to enhance the standard of living and economic health and welfare for North Port and our region, a group of dedicated and talented volunteers formed the North Port Economic Development Corporation (NPEDC).

The organization is a non profit corporation dedicated to creating catalysts that stimulate economic metabolism resulting in positive sustained growth for our community.

In less than one year, the organization developed a comprehensive community plan which engages an integrated set of visions/initiatives that encompass the entire city of North Port. The plan includes specific projects with defined outcomes and realistic time-frames. The end result of these vision initiatives could generate total new construction of $270 to $770 million in North Port and create over 1,700 new jobs. Take a few minutes to read through our vision initiatives which include The Toledo Blade Initiative; The West Side Initiative; The Main Street Initiative; The Eco-Tourism Initiative; and the Warm Mineral Springs Initiative.

The NPEDC has a very supportive volunteer Board of Directors, and a progressive and active volunteer Advisory Board. That, along with a private sector membership base that encourages economic growth in and for our community is a winning combination. One of our Board Members hit the nail on the head when he said “Cities change because people of vision and commitment come together to dream the future”. It is this philosophy that continues to move our organization and our visions forward for the economic health and welfare of our community.

We welcome new thoughts and ideas and encourage new member support to help us move our vision initiatives forward.
